Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapists cannot admit Medicare patients, but can remain in the home and case manage after the other disciplines have discharged

Assist with improving ADLs and addresses home safety

*Can help those with "low vision" (such as macular degeneration or diabetic retinopathy) to help make home safer and help them adapt

Assists the patient in regaining strength in the upper extremities and resuming prior level of function

Perform cognitive screening to determine ability (i.e., learn new tasks, live independently)

*CANNOT have patient on home care services and attending outpatient therapy at the same time*
